Chilli Pepper Pattern

times - January 2010 annual statistics

That's a nice action here started. The first questions for January should be up to 20.1. be answered, so I'm using the same.

first What was your first book you've read and we have you get it?

I seem to remember that I read first "The Children of Noisy Village". I got it from my mom in the summer because I was 5.5 years old. The copy I still have. Now we read it together with my five year old daughter.

second How did you become a bookworm?

That just happened. According to stories of my family I've always been interested in books, learned to read quickly and then swallowed everything.

third How many books do you read on average a month?

Depending on the thickness of the book about 5-8 pieces. Unfortunately, sometimes less.

4th Did you have them read you as if you had no chance to read. If so by whom?

this I am absolutely can not remember but determined. I type mostly my mom has read.

5th How many books do you have?

too difficult. I can not answer the question because so many books have remained with my parents. Certainly more than a thousand but how many exactly? No idea.

6th See you from your bookshelf.

In the previous post I show my bookshelf for the sub. That must now reach for now.

Getting Your Hair Dyed After Shingles

Although the blog has suffered greatly from my lack of time, I would try it again this year to write here regularly.

In 2010, I read less books than in 2009 - that was clear I now have two children, who require more attention. I came up with 76 books plus 4 books that I had broken off. The broken titles were: "The Gathering" by Anne Enright, "The victory of Nelson Mandela" by John Carlin, "Karen Magnus's Daughter" by Mika Waltari and "The true power" by Stefan Zeromski.

Which countries I have visited this year? Once again I have read most books by Polish authors. Here is the complete list:

Poland 18 Germany 8
USA 8
Finland 4 Sweden 4
Iceland 3
France 3
Italy 3
Australia 2 Belgium 2
Czech Republic 2 Portugal 2
Thailand 2

each have a book I read from the following countries: Mexico, Mozambique, Cuba, Denmark, Holland, Austria, Lebanon , Hungary, Nigeria, Angola, Switzerland, Ireland, Congo, Japan, Iran, Spain, Great Britain, Canada and Kyrgyzstan.

Most directories are so out of Europe - 57 pcs. The other continents I have visited so often
North and Central America: 11
Australia and Oceania: 2
Africa: 4
Asia: 6
Unfortunately I have not read a book from South America.

Last year I had planned to visit Africa more often, what I only partly succeeded. Four books from African countries, after all, a good result. In addition, I wanted to meet Philippine literature - I move this project to 2011 and complement it with South American literature.

I also have read more books written by men, women wrote only 21st However, I have never paid attention to the gender of the author's words, this result is purely coincidental.

In 2010, I have finally read more in Polish - 50 books were in that language, the remainder in German.

I've been working on my challenges and plans and have 4 books which were crowned with the Nobel Prize read, 6 new countries visited and have read 4 books in the Polish challenge to the literary awards.

2010 had I continued my work with a couple of Polish publishing houses - read 29 of the books were donated by the publisher. In conclusion, I must say that I am satisfied with the cooperation: most books were hit, there were only a few specimens that have not taken my taste.

It is difficult for me to choose the book of the year. So I selected a few books that have most impressed me either, or just enjoy reading were. Here I will only list the titles are also available in German or English:

"The Hakawati" Rabinah Alameddine
"The Moor" Lea Korte
"Half of the Sun Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
" silk "Alessandro Baricco
" Persepolis "Marjane Satrapi
" The White Ship "Chingiz Aitmatov
" Beasts "Joyce Carol Oates

In 2010, I discovered audio books for me - for a walk with the stroller I've heard 10th After initial difficulties, I'm used to hearing and was able to concentrate easily. All audio books were in German.

was with surprise I found that the blog, though I'm here so rare, 18 observer. Compared to my Polish blog, there may be little, but I am each person who stops by here. Thank you for this!

I found last year, many new literary landscape for me - the reading was still conscious, the choice of books more precise, I have again had courage to put away books that have interested me. You, my readers, I wish that 2011 you pleasantly surprised and that you can claim on the threshold of 2012, that you have experienced a good year!

Finally, let me show you a photo of my new bookcase. Earlier, the books were stacked in my sub only to each other, threatening to fall at any time. Now they look fine in the rank and file and wait to be read out.
