On the last Saturday was magazine in an article on coaching that I was pretty irritated.
irritates me most is the statement by Miss Smith, that coaching the message "You need counseling" implies. Although I can well imagine that part of coaching is supply-induced demand. Basically, I am of the opinion that the increasing expression of the coaching needs current social development. Globalization is leading to increasing pressure to perform in an increasingly complex world. And while pretending earlier value systems of religion and family a certain amount of frames, must clearly be in an individualized world of the individual himself as to what values are important to him. The rising demand is coaching for me, therefore expression of the fact that many people is more difficult to orient themselves in the world today.
other hand, I'm agree with Miss Smith that there are more coaches who offer support for various issues, but without a sound education to be presented. For me It would therefore be desirable if it - similar to other professions - a protected and respected title would be, which is connected to a sound education with professional ethics. In part, this is now covered with the title Coach BSO.
